Can you pronounce “shou-sugi-ban?” Here in the west it’s the vernacular that we use to decribe the traditional black siding from Japan, but I’m told that the correct word is actually “yakisugi.” It is a type of siding that is heat-treated in order to increase weather, fire, insect, and rot resistance. Plus, it looks pretty cool to boot! Well, as you can see, the owner wanted to use it to protect her new tiny home, and we were elated to finally get a chance to work with this wonderful product. The whole place is coming together nicely!
